Black Ops Rezzurection Map Pack Announced

The fourth, and most likely final map pack for call of duty black ops has recently been announced, and this time, they're going all out zombies, bringing the four classic maps from world at war (Which I, myself would consider the best) for the people who did not buy hardened or prestige.

The new map pack will also contain a new map entitled 'Moon', which suprisingly, is set on the moon. This should be very interesting to see!

LA Noire First Impressions

All I can say is wow.

Although the game starts of fairly slow, pace does pick up fast once you are past the tutorial cases and you are free to carry out cases at your own will, It's not a fast paced game at all, it requires thinking, and thats what I like, It's similar to the Phoenix Wright series, you need to be able to detect contradictions, lies and truths.

Team Bondi and Rockstar have made an unusual approach, using a new way to record facial animation, many cameras are used around an actors face to produce an exact replica in the game world, you're use of psychology is put to the test as you watch carefully peoples reactions to your questions to detect if they are lying - just like in real interrogations.

It's definitely a unique game, do not be mistaken by comparing it to Grand Theft Auto or the recent 'Red Dead Redemption, there is shooting in the game, but it does not occur often (And you can't massacre people on the streets!)

I love it so far, and I can't wait to get back to it!

Eurogamer Expo 2011

All the huge gaming and technology expo's, E3, Comic Con, PAX, CES. What's the trend here? They are all in the US, and I and many people like me who live in the UK have no chance of getting to ANY of these.

But, hope is not lost as we DO have Eurogamer! Although it is not as globally known as prestigious expo's such as E3, were Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony battle it out to have the best conference, Eurogamer still gives you a chance to play some upcoming games that aren't released (Including Battlefield 3!!!), go to some conferences or get some advice on careers in the gaming industry while still being able to stay in the UK!

Eurogamer 2011 takes place in London Earls Court between the 22nd - 25th of September and it's going to be awesome (My first gaming expo)

I Plan to post some videos documenting me and my friend's day and, hopefully we can get press passes!

Apologies for the absence

I am very sorry for my lack of posting recently, It's exam time in the UK and I really don't have enough time to post reviews alongside my coursework and revision, I will still try to post the odd video and trailer, but don't expect to receive much until I finish school forever.

(June 10th ! ! )

In the mean time, heres a trailer.

Source Code

So I saw source code, and it's truly an awesome film, I'd have to see it again to write a proper review, but it's basically about an American soldier who's mission is to investigate a terrorist attack on a train thats already happened...

How does he do this? He visits the memory of one of the victims of the last 8 minutes of their life, he has to keep going back to find out certain information and suspects to prevent another attack from happening, and each time he only has 8 minutes before the train goes BOOM.

Simple? No there are many twists in the film, but what I like most about it is it always is making you think, similar to Inception, even after the film, its pretty deep I have to say and you never know when the film is going to end or how its going to end.

I give it an 8.5 out of 10

Crysis 2 Review

Crysis 2 is a first person Sci-Fi game set in a futuristic New York city. Times are not good, a deady virus sweeps the nation, aliens are invading, oh, and the whole government are after you.

You acquire a Nanosuit at the beggining of the game, an advanced piece of equipment that literally makes you a super soldier, enhanced strength, sprinting and yeah... you can turn invisible.

Because of all the abilities the suit gives you, there are a lot of different ways to complete each stage of the game, wether that be facing enemies head on with super strength and fast sprint, or pacing your self for those awesome stealth kills.

Crysis 2 is a sandbox game, however it is not open world, but the level space is so big that there are countless numbers of ways to complete each objective.

The visuals of Crysis are some of the best I've ever seen on any console or PC. The explosions are epic, the  scenery is so 'clean and overall the graphics are just amazing.

Homefront Review

Homefront, the new first person shooter taking on the ranks of Call of Duty and Battlefield, but does it match up? Perhaps.

Homefront is placed in the near future, America has been occupied by a 'United' Korean Empire and you are placed within an uprising of survivors, the story is quite original, however there is little 'personal' interaction or character, as there is in Call of Duty or Bad Company.

The graphics are definitely outdated by many current and upcoming games, however this does not stop the sounds from being great.

Overall, the story is good, but it ends abruptly (You'll see)

The multiplayer is what makes this games, large maps that never feel the same, and a wide range of vehicle and weapon unlocks as you progress with xp.

KillZone 3 Review

The long anticipated Killzone 3 is here, and for many PS3 users, this is their own equivelant to 'Halo'

With stunning HD graphics and visuals and stunning sounds, it would be hard not to be jealous of PS3 owners if you didn't own one yourself, but does the gameplay match up to this? Sure a game can have great graphics but it still wont peform without good mechanics.

Overall Killzone 3 is a huge improvement of the last instalment, the controls seem far more natural, and the multiplayer is far more replayable, albeit a fairly limited amount of maps.

Bulletstorm Review

Bulletstorm, a game which comes from the creators of the best selling franchise, Gears of War, 'Epic Games' and 'People Can Fly' adds a twist to the regular, generic first person shooter genre.

Unlike most first person shooters on the market Bulletstorm's story does not take itself too seriously, and that is what the developers set out to do, and the game delivers a funny story with some black humour while still keeping an intense pace, just as call of duty or halo.

The gameplay is also very fun and there is barely any boring moments in the game as you progressively unlock new ways to kill enemies, the mechanics are all about killing enemies in outrageous ways like kicking them onto a spiked wall or pulling enemies towards you before pulling of a kill, and the more outrageous your kill the more skill points you will earn, allowing you to purchase gun or ammo upgrades.
